The Wyoming Game and Fish Department (WGFD) recently killed four wolves in the northwest portion of the state because of livestock kills.
“That’s the reality of a recovered wolf population in northwest Wyoming is that we’re still going to see conflicts,” Dan Thompson, WGFD large carnivore supervisor, told Wyoming Public Media. “But our goal is to reduce those on the landscape as much as possible and also reduce those agency removals of wolves if we can.”
The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation agrees that state agencies should manage wolves just as they manage elk, bears, deer and other wildlife, for the benefit of all species.
