Authorities in northern Utah are trying to find a missing elk hunter.
Carl Crumrine is from Buckhannon, West Virginia. He and several others left their camp early on October 14, 2019.
“They all set out to go hunting and he never returned that day. After the sun had set a member of the group went to a place where they had cell service and contacted us and we sent search crews,” Andrew Wright, lieutenant with the Summit County Sheriff’s Department, told MetroNews.
Crews are using dogs, horses, an airplane and a helicopter to search in thick, rugged terrain of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest along the Utah-Wyoming border. They say Crumrine did have a rifle, food, water and other supplies with him.
Crumrine is also a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
