Fire managers plan to conduct a prescribed burn in the Paulina Ranger District on the Ochoco National Forest of central Oregon. The goal is to remove high concentrations of woody debris as a benefit for big game winter range and sage grouse habitat.
The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation is providing funding for the project.
Weather permitting, the prescribed burn will take place the first week of April 2018.
