Mountain goats are probably the best and most sure-footed climbers among all large North American mammals.
Want evidence? Check out the photo taken from the Logan Pass Visitor Center’s web cam in Glacier National Park. It shows a lone goat on a casual evening stroll along the peak of the center’s roof. Mountain goats are a common sight in that portion of the park but they usually spent their time on trails and mountainsides.
Mountain goats are also the largest mammals found in their high altitude habitats.
