A series of wildlife crossings on Colorado Highway 9 provide safe travel for motorists and wildlife alike. The innovative accident-mitigation project is the first of its kind in Colorado.
In just two years, a variety of wildlife species are already using the structures which already reduced and wildlife/vehicle collisions by 90 percent.
The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation provided funding toward purchase of the cameras that document the wildlife movement.
