15 miles…that’s 79,200 feet. That’s also the approximate length of how much old, dilapidated unfriendly-to-wildlife fencing is no longer on the Colorado landscape, home to the most elk in North America. Migration is easier for elk, deer and other animals thanks to what’s become an annual reunion of sorts by volunteers from the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. This “family” is growing its ranks by welcoming new, younger faces to the effort. And they’re firmly grasping the new challenge with both hands.
