Bears will go to just about any lengths to satisfy hunger—dumpster diving, breaking into homes and cabins or stalking neighborhoods. Unfortunately, for the owner of a 1965 289 Shelby Cobra that meant a bear in Alaska treated his rare vintage sports car more like a can of tuna.
Tom Cotter recently toured Alaska with several other car collectors. A friend left a package of cookies inside so the bear tore a hole in the vinyl roof and left several expensive dents in the car’s body.
Cotter told WTVD–TV that the value of his car is “approaching seven figures.” He expects insurance to address the situation.
