It happened just a couple of days before April Fool’s Day, but this was no joke.
“I am on my truck. I can’t talk.”
That’s the text Caprice Price Sweatt received from her husband, Eric. He wasn’t deep in the backcountry. He was in his own driveway in Loveland, Colorado, about 50 miles north of Denver. Sweatt climbed atop his pickup because a couple of bull elk, one spike and the other that previously shed its antlers, wandered a little too close for comfort while in search of a meal.
In a Facebook post, Caprice stated the elk tend to visit them about once a month.
