This isn’t exactly what Josey Branch signed up for when he became a game warden in Oklahoma, or maybe it was after all.
Branch just recently completed all of his field training and responded to a call of an elk caught in a fence in Kowa County in the southwestern part of the state.
He arrived to find the 5×5 bull caught up in a cotton bale tarp, electric fence and a barbed wire fence. After evaluating the scene, he shot off both antlers well above the bases to prevent injury. He then shot the wire and bale tarp until most of it broke away.
The bull then trotted off into the woods.
