Below is a Facebook post by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. For 2025, Fiocchi partnered with the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation to increase the visibility of poaching incidents in an effort to reduce poaching.

A $3,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the conviction of the person(s) responsible for an elk poached on North Cumberland Wildlife Management Area (NCWMA) in the Caryville area of Campbell County. The location is well known to locals as the Red Ash/Wheeler Gap area on the Royal Blue Unit of NCWMA.

In the afternoon hours of Saturday, February 22, 2025, a call was received that an elk carcass had been found on the Royal Blue Unit of NCWMA. Wildlife Manager Darrell England was the first on the scene, locating the remains of an elk that appeared to have been shot within the last few days. Wildlife Officer Spencer Wilson and Wildlife Manager Brenden Marlow responded and assisted in collecting evidence. The officers state that multiple parts of the elk had been removed from the carcass and several pieces of evidence were collected. The incident remains under further investigation.

The Pine Mountain Long Beards Chapter of the NWTF, Campbell Outdoor Recreation Association, and the Tennessee Wildlife Federation are offering a $3,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of the person(s) responsible for the elk’s death.
